Transition

February 11, 2012

Pulsating sheets of ecstasy

Contain the heart’s desire, for what?

Moments later, shields are down

And my face becomes a liar.

The knife’s not clean as it moves

Through spirit, flesh, and mind

In, out, in

Out

Panting with the playfulness

Dancing in the light

Carving out the intimacy

Trying to make some right

Of knife strokes

In

The deepest places,

Darkness fades all color, dimming thoughts and features

Emergency teams are nimble not

To save surrounding souls

The quick is cut, the knife is pulled

Damage has been done.

Pretense, is it the only way

To forget that we were one?

The caustic burns at first

The taste rubs clean the surface

Of my soul.

Pleasure and anger all tied so tightly

I cannot control the change

Transition is nil as vehemence takes over

No time for warning, advisement, informing

Just time to jump the ship.
